Oleksandr Pankieiev

Dr. Oleksandr  Pankieiev is a research coordinator and editor-in-chief of the Forum for Ukrainian Studies at the Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies, University of Alberta. He also serves as the President of the Alberta Society for the Advancement of Ukrainian Studies. His research interests include the history of Steppe Ukraine, Russian-Ukrainian relations, bureaucracy and elites in Ukraine, ethnography, oral history, and digital media. He is an author of three historical sourcebooks, Azovsʹke namisnytstvo: nerealizovanyi proekt (co-authored with Anna Olenenko; Zaporizhia, 2011) and Hrupovi formuliarni spysky chynovnytstva u Novorosiisʹkii huberniï za 1798 rik (Zaporizhia, 2011); Rozpys sprav Katerynoslavsʹkoho namisnytstva: dilovodstvo ta kantseliarsʹke chynovnytstvo (Kyiv, 2018).

His latest publication is the collection of the articles  "Meandering in Transition Thirty Years of Reforms and Identity in Post-Communist Europe" which he co-edited with  Dr. Ostap Kushnir.
