Kelly Hignett

Kelly’s research interests relate to twentieth century central and eastern Europe, with a particular focus on communist Czechoslovakia. Her  research interests include: repression, imprisonment and forced labour; show trials and political persecution; criminality and social deviance; nationalism, state-building and identity construction. She has previously published a number of journal articles and book chapters and recently co-authored a book titled Women’s Experiences of Repression in the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe (Routledge, 2018).
