Dr. Tyler Kirk

Tyler Kirk is an Assistant Professor of History and the Assistant Director of Arctic and Northern Studies at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. He received his Ph.D. from Arizona State University in 2019. He is currently working on a book manuscript entitled: Remembering the Gulag: A History of Memory in Russia’s Far North, 1987-2021. His research interests include the Soviet Gulag, memory studies, and the circumpolar North.
