Li-Chen Sim
Dr Li-Chen Sim is a specialist in the political economy of Russian and Gulf energy and its intersection with international relations. Her interests include the politics of energy in the Middle East, Gulf-Asia exchanges, Russia-China relations in the Middle East, and Russia-Gulf interactions. Her most recently published books include Low Carbon Energy in the Middle East and North Africa (Palgrave 2021) and External Powers and the Gulf Monarchies (Routledge, 2018). She is currently co-editing a journal special issue on ‘Asian Perceptions of Gulf Security’ among other writing commitments. Her articles have appeared in a variety of Scopus-indexed scholarly journals as well as in policy platforms hosted by global think tanks'. Dr Sim currently teaches at Khalifa University in the UAE and is also a non-resident scholar at the Washington DC-based Middle East Institute.
