Dr. Eugene Miakinkov

Eugene Miakinkov is a Lecturer in War and Society in the Department of Political and Cultural Studies, at Swansea University, in Wales, UK. He is the author of the War and Enlightenment in Russia: Military Culture in the Age of Catherine II (2020). His current work is located in the field of information history, and will examine the rise of the “information state” in Imperial Russia, and the second project will explore the militarisation of Russian culture, politics, and society under President Vladimir Putin up to the annexation of the Crimea.
