Ulrike Ziemer

Ulrike Ziemer is Senior Lecturer in Sociology at the University of Winchester. She has an MA and PhD from the Centre for Russian and Eurasian Studies (CREES) at the University of Birmingham and a BA(Hons) in Russian and Politics from the University of Bath. Prior to taking up her position at the University of Winchester in 2012, she was Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Centre for East European Language Based Area Studies (CEELBAS) at the School of Slavonic and East European Studies, University College London. Her publications include numerous journal articles and book chapters on the Armenian diaspora in Russia, as well as on gender issues in Armenia and Nagorny Karabakh.
