Nina Markovic
Dr Nina Markovic Khaze (PhD, MAIR-MDip, ANU; BA/Hons UWA) is living in Sydney. During her early student years, she lived in Aachen and Rome as part of the ERASMUS Mundus research exchange grants (RWTH/LUISS), and in Belgrade until her teenage years. She has been reporting on national politics in Australia for SBS radio sine 2013, working as a sessional academic in Sydney since 2014-15 and previously, as a Senior Parliamentary Researcher in Foreign Affairs, Defence and Security (2007-2013). She is a member of ESAANZ (Chair of NSW/ACT branch), AACaPS, UACES and former Vice-President of the Australian Institute of International Affairs (ACT Branch). Her co-edited volume with Prof Samina Yasmeen on "Muslim Citizens in the West: Spaces and Agents of Inclusion and Exclusion" has received international accolades. She is also a published poet and an avid follower of the Eurovision Song Contest, with a special interest in ethno-musicology.
