We’re drowning in apps, notifications, news and comments: how do you recognize authentic content shared on your social media feeds versus what is fabricated? It’s not always easy!
This session will discuss some of the technology that is used to create misleading content like deepfakes, but also simply clickbait or tricks to take over your attention. We’ll suggest some ways of recognizing and thinking critically about digital content. We will conclude with an open discussion about how disinformation affects various aspects of our work in higher education.
