Saul Carliner is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Education. He is a generalist in learning and communication, with substantial tenures in both academia and industry in both fields. His teaching and research focus on the design of instructional and informational materials (especially in emerging genres and media), the management of groups that produce these materials, and related issues of policy and professionalism.
