Dr Kevin Hunt

Kevin Hunt is based in the School of Art and Design at Nottingham Trent University, UK, where he teaches cultural and contextual studies. His background is in film studies and his PhD explored the role of text in American paintings. His research interests relate to culture and the senses, and more recently the work of Michel Serres, with a particular interest in sight and visual impairment in relation to touch and the other senses. Kevin has written book chapters, articles, and reviews for a wide range of publications, including Film Philosophy, Craft Research, The Senses and Society, Afterimage, Journal of American Studies, Eye Magazine and The Conversation

Kevin is interested in aphantasia, which relates to the inability to create mental imagery in the mind's eye (sometimes referred to as 'blindness' of the mind's eye). He is an aphantasic.
