Dr. Xiujuan Chen is a postdoctoral research fellow at the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science, Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada. Dr. Chen completed her Master and PhD programs in Environmental Systems Engineering at the University of Regina, Canada. Her research interests include water and wastewater treatment, membrane filtration engineering, environmental applications of nanomaterials, and environmental systems planning. Dr. Chen has published over 40 peer-reviewed journal papers and more than 10 conference papers. Dr. Chen is working on projects on oil and emerging contaminant mitigation in marine environments, targeting the advancement of oily wastewater treatment methodologies, specifically the investigation of contaminant removal through membrane filtration technologies.
