Michel Carreau is a global energy transition leader and Regional Director, eGrid (Eastern Canada) at Hatch in Montreal, where he leads engineering and project development in renewables, energy storage, transport and distribution, and grid modernization, including AI-powered data center grid interconnection and low-carbon power supply integration. With nearly three decades at Hatch, he has held leadership roles including Director of Hybrid Power (renewables, energy storage, hydrogen) and Director of Energy and Hybrid Power, delivering complex projects from concept to detailed design and commissioning. His expertise spans hybrid power systems, microgrids, BESS, green hydrogen/ammonia, low-carbon solutions, and techno-economic analysis and project finance support. Michel holds a Ph.D. in Physics from MIT and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Physics at Boston University. He brings a global perspective through projects across the Americas, Europe, Africa, and Asia-Pacific, and is committed to accelerating the transition to net-zero and climate resilience.
