PhD candidate
Odeuropa

I am part of the Odeuropa project [https://odeuropa.eu/], whose goal is to show that critically engaging our sense of smell and our olfactory heritage is an important and a viable means for connecting and promoting Europe’s tangible and intangible cultural heritage.
My research focuses on the interconnections between odours, users, spaces, and representations in GLAMs (galleries, libraries, archives, museums) and heritage sites. By retracing and contextualizing the narratives told about smells and the odorous characteristics by visitors and GLAMs professionals, my investigation has two ambitions: increase knowledge and awareness for public interest and prepare tools for museums and urban professionals to involve the olfactory sense in their work. From a phenomenological perspective, I also research how smells participate in our making sense of place.
