My research focuses on two main subjects of interest: Travel Literature in early New France (XVIth and XVIIth Century) and the use of new technologies in the teaching of French as a Second Language. I am particularly interested in the discourse strategies in travel literature and in the representations of the American otherness (people, spaces, fauna and flora) in the texts and maps of the Ancien Régime. Currently, I am developing content for online courses and investigating the factors behind student errors, effective instructor feedback and reinvestment.
