Aidan Hughes
Research Associate
The University of Sheffield
Aidan received an MEng in Mechanical Engineering with Nuclear Technology from The University of Sheffield in the summer of 2018. Remaining at Sheffield to undertake a PhD, in the following autumn he began researching the application of probabilistic graphical models in the context of structural health monitoring (SHM). The project aims to improve probabilistic risk assessment and facilitate risk-informed decision making under uncertainty.
In March, 2022 Aidan joined DigiTwin as a Research Associate. His research focuses on linking machine learning technology to digital twins. Specifically using data- driven modelling techniques and machine learning to support risk-based decision-making processes in the digital twin.
