In partnership with Inuit Futures in Arts Leadership: The Pilimmaksarniq / Pijariuqsarniq Project, La Guilde is proud to present Amisut, an exhibition curated by Ooleepeeka Eegeesiak featuring the work of ten early-career Inuit artists: Natashia Allakariallak, Aedan Corey, Saelym Degrandpre, Malaya Kisa-Knickelbein, Mikak, Yvonne Moorhouse, Cassidy-Ann Netser, Jason Sikoak, Taqtu & Sarah Whalen Lunn. Going against the grain of the art cooperative system, these artists adopt contemporary practices that explore questions of identity and relationship to the land. Their striking works offer a glimpse into the realities of Inuit creators outside the major northern print studios.
Catering will be provided by local Indigenous Chef Swaniege and this evening will feature music by DJ Atamone.
