Jamesie Fournier enjoys exploring his culture and identity through his writing. Originally from the Northwest Territories, Jamesie lives in Iqaluit, NU. His debut fiction, The Other Ones, published with Inhabit Media, won silver at the 2022 Independent Publisher Book Awards and was a finalist for the 2023 NorthWords Book Award. His debut poetry collection, Elements, was shortlisted for the 2024 Indigenous Voices Award. Jamesie was part of the 2023-24 Audible Indigenous Writer’s Circle, the NBC Universal Indigenous Screenwriting Program, and the Inuit Future’s Artist Incubator Project. His premiere children’s book, Lemming’s First Christmas will be available this holiday season.
