Mark Bennett

Mark Bennett is a mixed-identity Inuk designer based in Toronto, originally from western Ktaqmkuk (Newfoundland) and a Nunatsiavut beneficiary. Bennett considers his primary area of focus to be in graphic design collaborating with artists, galleries, and cultural organizations. His latest personal work is an exploratory process and research of graphic design and circumpolar northern architecture. Current and recent design projects include working with the National Gallery of Canada, Art Gallery of York University, Qaumajuq-Winnipeg Art Gallery, Gallery 44, Fogo Island Arts, Bonavista Biennale and the Inuit Art Foundation. Recent scholarships and grants include the Type Directors Club, Ontario Arts Council, and a co-grant from the Graham Foundation with Geronimo Inutiq and Rafico Ruiz. A recent residency in Tromsø, Sápmi (Norway) this summer to meet and learn from Sámi friends and artists is also impactful to his ongoing work. Bennett is also currently a part-time undergraduate architecture student at the University of Toronto.
