Jessica Brown, an award-winning Nunatsiavut Inuk filmmaker based in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, is the proud owner of Ujarak Media. She is committed to showcasing Inuit communities' unique cultural heritage and narratives. Jessica's dedication to empowering future generations of Inuit storytellers is a key aspect of her work. Her advocacy for Indigenous representation in Canada's entertainment industry is evident in her role as the Founder of the Northern Film Initiative, where she creates opportunities for Indigenous voices in front of and behind the camera. Jessica continues cultivating a vibrant and inclusive creative landscape through Ujarak Media, a registered Nunatsiavut Inuit Business, telling authentic narratives that honour and elevate her Inuit culture.
