Pasha April Partridge is an urban Inuk from Kuujjuaq, Quebec and Kanien'kehá:ka from Kahnawá:ke, Mohawk Territory, currently residing in Tiohtià:ke (Montreal). She has made multiple short films using stop-motion animation. Her first film, The Story of Pasha, made it to multiple film festivals, including Maoriland Film Festival 2019 in Otaki, New Zealand and ImagineNative Film Festival 2018 in Toronto, Canada. She got to go to New Zealand in 2023 to see one of her collaborative films on-screen at the Maoriland Film Festival. In 2024, she went to Norway to share her filmmaking experience at the NAISA conference and Arctic Congress conference.
As an urban Inuk, she finds artistic ways to connect with both of her Indigenous cultures, like incorporating cultural messages or images in her films. She is a jewelry artist, a soapstone carver, a researcher and mother. She gives workshops on all her art forms and has a passion for education for Indigenous students. She runs Pasha’s Projects when she has extra time and involves herself in community events throughout Tiohtià:ke (Montreal). She works at McGill University as the Administrative Coordinator at the First Peoples’ House, and as a casual research assistant at the CIRC Lab.
