Online learning has grown in popularity, with increases in demand, registration, and attendance. As a result, the processes and best practices that inform online learning and course development have evolved accordingly. In response to the growing demand, Quality Standards were implemented to ensure that increases in the quantity of courses would not diminish their quality, but, rather, enhance it. The Quality Standards were developed by eConcordia in collaboration with the Center for Teaching and Learning to establish a framework and benchmark of excellence for all future online courses developed at Concordia. This presentation will focus on the impact Quality Standards have had on courses developed since their implementation, as well as the way they will continue to inform future course development at the university.
