Geneviève Moisan
She/her
Geneviève has dedicated several years to studying weaving and acquiring a solid technical background in textile construction, printing and dyeing techniques. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from UQAM and her Master of Fine Arts from Concordia University, specializing in fibers and material practices. Additionally, she holds a diploma in higher education pedagogy. Engaged in numerous collaborative research projects spanning diverse interests, from creating textile antennas for video communication to cultivating bacteria for sustainable fabric dyeing protocols. As the co-founder of STAIN Lab, she leads a portable laboratory teaching undergraduate students sustainable methods for creatively crafting their own artistic materials from nature, including natural dyeing and pigment making. Furthermore, she works as a textile equipment specialist at Milieux: the Institute for Arts, Culture, and Technology, where she conducts various weaving and digital embroidery workshops. Since 2019, she has been a part-time faculty instructor in the Department of Fibers and Material Practices.
