What:
Workshop
When:
11:00 AM, Saturday 8 Jun 2024 (1 hour 15 minutes)
Where:
- EV 2.645
In this presentation, I'll delve into creating artistic pedagogical projects inspired by contemporary adolescent issues and artists' practices. Various projects for high school students will address mental health, screen effects, youth values, identity quest, community, global news, etc., using diverse technologies for expression. These projects prioritize sensory immersion, corporeality, and interaction. I'll discuss their impact on students' self-confidence, tech understanding, and collaboration. The presentation encompasses curricular activities, online interactions, meetings with creators, production documentation, student feedback, and artwork exhibitions. We'll also explore artistic, technological, and "maker" software usage and public space exhibition planning.

Participants will see how collaboration and peer learning cultivate students' confidence and autonomy in a supportive environment. Additionally, an ideation exercise will guide them through conceiving meaningful projects for Quebec schools. In addition to design thinking exercises, participants will be able to experiment with different non-traditional artistic mediums and techniques, awakening their potential for innovative creation.
