Marie-Pier Viens has been teaching visual and technological arts at the secondary level for 15 years. She is also involved in teacher training at Université du Québec à Montréal and in developing innovative curricula for teachers within AQÉSAP and RÉCIT National des Arts projects, among others. As a doctoral student in art education at Concordia University, she is interested in innovative pedagogical practices among experienced teachers in all artistic disciplines and the privileged role they hold within their school community in terms of their potential for pedagogical, technological, media, and social ideation. Marie-Pier’s artistic practice lies in the development of complex and always new pedagogical projects over the years, based on the students who populate her classes, the issues and interests that engage them. With them, she works with various mediums such as rug making, screen printing, rotoscope animation, VR creation, 3D generative art, sound art, video, etc.
