Impact of the Energy Transition on Green Hydrogen Requirements and Associated Products and Technologies

Most countries have set stringent targets to reduce green house gas emissions in the upcoming years and aim at becoming carbo-neutral by 2050. The elimination of fossil fuels will require large amounts of additional electricity, but some sectors cannot be electrified directly. These hard-to-abate sectors will need hydrogen or hydrogen derived synthetic fuels as substitute to fossil fuels. This presentation will discuss the needs in hydrogen in 2050 and the impact this will have on materials and coatings technologies.
