Open textbooks can be fun, interactive, and foster accessible and multimodal learning. In this session, we will offer a soft-launch of our Guide to Pressbooks at Concordia University. Beyond looking at highlights from innovative uses of Pressbooks, we will explore interactive features, accessibility, and multimedia features of Pressbooks. Participants will get the chance to test out Pressbooks for themselves.
This session aims to provide a case study with practical examples of how Teams has been successfully implemented in one unit at Concordia University. Tools used for both project and people management will be highlighted.
Characters create warmth, familiarity, human connection, inclusivity, diversity, and engagement in courses. This presentation will show a case study of a course in higher education that used characters, an intern and a mentor, to introduce topics, ask questions, and drive the course forward!
