Call for Papers

The Climate Finance & Sustainability Conference invites submissions presenting conceptual, empirical, or methodological research at the intersection of sustainability and business. The conference aims to provide a platform for interdisciplinary exchange and welcomes contributions from all business disciplines as well as related fields, including economics, data science, public policy, and environmental studies.

We particularly encourage research that advances the understanding of how sustainability challenges affect firms, markets, and economic systems, and how organizations respond through strategy, innovation, governance, and policy.

Topics of interest include (but are not limited to):

Strategy and management:

  • Multi-stakeholder governance of sustainability initiatives
  • Managing business impacts on planetary boundaries
  • Inter- and intra-connectivity of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors

Accounting and finance:

  • From disclosure to decision-usefulness in sustainability reporting
  • Regulatory competition in sustainability reporting and standard setting
  • ESG, sustainability, and climate finance

Entrepreneurship and innovation:

  • The role of artificial intelligence in advancing business sustainability
  • Design, scaling, and diffusion of sustainable business models
  • Social entrepreneurship and impact-driven ventures

Marketing and responsible consumption:

  • Multi-dimensional sustainability claims and brand perceptions / performance
  • Stakeholder (including consumer) responses to corporate sustainability communication
  • Responsible consumption and consumer engagement in the circular economy

Supply chain and operations management:

  • Operational resilience in the context of natural disasters and climate change
  • Technology adoption and implementation in sustainable supply chain management
  • Scope 3 emissions: measurement and management across the supply chain

 

Important Dates and Information

  • Early submission deadline (recommended for international participants requiring visas): June 13, 2026
  • Notification of acceptance: June 20, 2026
  • Final submission deadline (subject to program capacity): August 1, 2026
  • Final notification of acceptance: August 10, 2026
  • Optional full-paper update deadline: September 1, 2026
  • Conference dates: September 27-28, 2026

Conference Submission

Full Papers: Authors may submit complete research papers for presentation and discussion in the main conference sessions.

Extended Abstracts (Research Ideas Track): To encourage discussion of emerging research ideas, the conference offers short research presentations without a formal discussant. These sessions focus on early-stage work and include interactive Q&A discussions with the audience. 

Authors submitting extended abstracts or early-stage work may update their submission with a revised or full paper prior to the conference. If sufficiently developed, the paper may be included in the full paper sessions.

Early submissions for participants requiring a visa are due by June 13, 2026. The final submission deadline for all other participants is August 1, 2026. Notification of acceptance will be sent by June 20, 2026 for early submissions and by August 10, 2026 for final submissions.

 

Conference Fee 

CAD 500 — includes meals, social program, gala dinner, and conference materials. PhD students who are presenting or attending as online presenters are eligible for a 50% discount. For additional details and different options see registration:
