He leads the Urban Culture Study Group (Cultura Urbana) at UNED (Spain). His research addresses a variety of forms of symbolic expression in urban settings. At present he is working on kitchens, intimacy and its narratives. Last book: Metropolitan Intimacies. An Ethnography on the Poetics of Daily Life (Lexington Books, 2022).
