Manon Raffard (she/her) holds PhD in French Studies from the Université de Bourgogne Europe (Dijon, France). Her doctoral research focused on the literary and cultural interactions between olfaction and conceptual knowledge in France between 1857 and 1914. She was editor-in-chief of the Diamond Open Access journal ÉCLATS (registered with the DOAJ since 2022) from 2022 to 2024. She currently teaches secondary students as a professeur agrégé and carries out her research independently. Her main project explores the links between smell, the environment and class violence in 19thc. France. She has written on the history of olfactory knowledge and sensory knowledge in general (physiology, anatomy, chemistry, philosophy, physics, etc.) in her dissertation, soon to be published.
