Todd Harrison is an educator, writer, marketing guru, and community organizer whose work is underscored by a passion for experiential learning, youth engagement, and civic action. He currently manages Future Design School’s thought leadership research and reporting, and works with teachers around the world to transform their classrooms into innovation hubs where students are developing the skills and competencies they need to thrive in school and beyond.
Prior to joining Future Design School, Todd was a teacher at The YMCA Academy, an alternative high school in downtown Toronto for youth with learning disabilities and learning style differences. He used the dynamic and ever-changing urban landscape that surrounded his classroom, as well as the multifaceted nature of his school’s parent organization (The YMCA of Greater Toronto), as teaching tools to bring authenticity and experiential opportunities to his students.
Todd is also a co-founder and senior editor of Spacing magazine and a consultant in non-profit digital marketing and community engagement around urban issues like walkability, sustainability, and programs and services for youth.
