Copyright of images is complex when navigating remix practices in the classroom. This workshop will explore copyright in remix artwork, and how the law applies to images in memes, collages, and other remix practices. I will explore with participants how they might discuss copyright with secondary and university students in the classroom, using examples from case law. They will create collages as examples and sources of discussion for how the laws may apply to artwork. Both moral and legal perspectives will be discussed.
