Nancy Long is an art and media teacher and artist from Montreal, Quebec. She is also a PhD candidate in the Department of Art Education at Concordia University, where she has taught undergraduate courses and graduate seminars at Concordia’s Centre for Teaching and Learning. Her doctoral research focuses on high school art students and teachers developing their skills in tolerance for ambiguity, and their re-evaluation of ‘mistakes’ made in the art room. Nancy is also interested in pre-service teacher education and cross-curricular integration of the arts. In her studio practice in painting, drawing and installation art, she examines the overlap of nostalgia and memory by reflecting on how they interact with our senses.
