My Session Status

What:
Workshop
When:
10:45 AM, Saturday 4 May 2024 (1 hour 15 minutes)
Where:
- EV 2.645
In this workshop we will explore what makes a meaningful art experience in early childhood. Together we will reflect on the value of art in preschools and how craft making and the "process over product" concept have framed art education in early childhood over the past years.

By observing photos, videos and transcripts we will be able to examine the documentation of different art projects created by three and four year old children. As we observe the process of these different projects, we will talk about the use of art as a vehicle for inquiry, artistic expression as a language and the importance of teacher's recognizing the potential in young learners and the potential in the materials we provide them.
