Marguerite Marion-Reyes is a Chilean-Canadian artist, researcher, and educator currently pursuing a Master's degree in Art Education at Concordia University in Tiohtià:ke/Montréal. Her research is deeply connected to the places she traverses and lives in, and her work reflects concepts of grief, nostalgia, weirdness, and eco-anxiety. In her Master's thesis, she is exploring how to teach and create art in the Pyrocene era, and is interested in how urgent issues can be brought into the classroom and incorporated into the curriculum. Marguerite's previous works have focused on metal and textile sculpture, as well as photography, working with the concept of the house and the memories it entails, but as places and climates change, her artwork and concerns also alter. In her latest research, using Researach-Creation and Heuristics, she uses experimental video to explore what can recording, editing and noticing can teach from a place, foster pedagogical approaches, and envision diverse futures.
