Boris Vukovic
Dr. Boris Vukovic is a higher education professional with over two decades of experience at Carleton University, where he has contributed to the advancement of accessibility as an emerging field of research and practice. As the Director of the Accessibility Institute and the National Office for the Canadian Accessibility Network (CAN), he is dedicated to establishing Carleton University as a leader in accessibility, nationally and internationally.
Holding faculty positions at both Carleton and McGill University, Dr. Vukovic's research is deeply rooted in accessibility, particularly focusing on nonvisible disabilities with highly interdisciplinary work in areas as diverse as AI, disability assessment, employment, built environment, and policy. He has published on a range of issues including accessibility as an emerging field, universal design, accessibility training, inclusive faculty development, and accessible employment transitions. His approach to research is transformative, participatory, and collaborative, aiming for real-world impact and action.
Dr. Vukovic's work transcends academic theory, striving for societal change for the benefit of persons with lived experience of disability, equitable social participation and removal of barriers through innovative and inclusive practices.
