Elizabeth Jones

Liz is based at Cornell University where she manages the GOBii project as well as leading adoption and Outreach for CGIAR's Excellence in Breeding Platform. Liz has 15 years of industry experience in Syngenta and Pioneer Hi-bred, applying molecular technologies and innovation to plant breeding processes.

She has a PhD in Plant from the University of Wales where she mapped QTLs for resistance to down mildew in pearl millet with her fieldwork being carried out at ICRISAT in India. Here she developed a love and respect for ICRISAT and the CGIAR system, which continues to drive her work and research today
