Did you know that you have access to think-cell, a PowerPoint add-on, for free as a Concordia staff member? think-cell helps you create stunning charts in minutes, boosts your slide layout and automates your regular reports. This presentation will cover the benefits of think-cell, how you can download it for free as a Concordia staff member, the process undertaken to obtain the free license and how it is being used at the Institute for Co-operative Education.
Open textbooks can be fun, interactive, and foster accessible and multimodal learning. In this session, we will offer a soft-launch of our Guide to Pressbooks at Concordia University. Beyond looking at highlights from innovative uses of Pressbooks, we will explore interactive features, accessibility, and multimedia features of Pressbooks. Participants will get the chance to test out Pressbooks for themselves.
This session is designed for instructors who already have experience with Moodle and are looking for new ways of incorporating various Moodle activities into their teaching practice. You will see creative examples of using common Moodle tools such as Assignment, Page, Choice, Forum, Glossary, etc. You will also get an overview of how to set up these activities to make your teaching more effective and engaging.
The presentation will showcase the use of some applications on your iPad that allow teaching to be more effective and interactive. Also, how to grade students' work in ways that save time while making the process more humanistic but effective and "ecofriendly".

In this presentation, I will explore some of the ways we use AI (especially generative AI) in the office, and the implications of this, focusing on equity and diversity.
Have you heard about Generative AI (e.g., ChatGPT) but are not sure how to interact with these tools? This session will provide an introductory overview of "prompt engineering": the process of crafting and structuring text to effectively communicate with generative AI models. Core concepts and best practices of prompt engineering will also be discussed. Live demos will be used to demonstrate various prompting techniques while exploring text generating AI tools like ChatGPT (and/or Perplexity)...
Powerpoint is a tool used by many of us in our day to day work, but there can be so much more to it than putting text and images on the slide. In this short, beginner-friendly session, we will explore a few additional features that can help spice up your future presentations... and unlock your creative powers through the use case of creating an interactive game in Powerpoint, because why not?
