We can often feel like we and our students have multiple physical and mental ‘tabs’ open. What if we recognized that distraction is normal, and that attention needs to be cultivated rather than assumed? Over the past year, I’ve been working with a group of faculty, staff, and students exploring this question through contemplative and mindfulness-based approaches in their work with students. I will share a preview of insights and practices they’ve documented to help foster focused and connected learning environments.
