Dr. David Sadoway
I am a Faculty-Lecturer in the Centre for Engineering in Society (CES) in the Gina Cody School of Engineering and Computer Science. I teach courses (and advise final year student capstone projects) focusing on the ethical, legal, socio-economic and environmental impacts of technologies on society. I am on leave from the Department of Geography and the Environment, and the Department of Policy Studies at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. I am interested in the political ecology and economy of technologies and infrastructures, including generative artificial intelligence. This includes an interest in the human rights, labour, ecological and pedagogical consequences of oligopolistic, corporate-led informatics.
