Ricardo A. Matute

RICARDO A. MATUTE is Associate Professor at Universidad Bernardo O'Higgins and Visitor in Chemistry at Caltech. He is Biochemist with PhD in Chemistry graduated from Universidad de Chile, with expertise in Theoretical and Computational Chemistry. His doctoral thesis was developed under the supervision of Renato Contreras in Chile and Leticia González in Germany. He moved to Los Angeles in 2011 and carried out a first postdoctoral stage at UCLA in the group of Kendall Houk, followed by a second postdoctoral stage at USC in the group of Nobel Laureate Arieh Warshel and a research stay at Caltech in the group of Nobel Laureate Rudolph Marcus. After five years in California, he moved back to Chile in 2016 and worked as postdoctoral assistant in the groups of Alejandro Toro-Labbé at PUC and José Zagal at USACH. Sponsored by Rudy Marcus, he is currently affiliated as Visitor in Chemistry in the Division of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at the California Institute of Technology - Caltech.
