Where:
- EV 2.645
The purpose of this workshop is to help pre-service art educators strengthen their ability to foster welcoming and accommodating learning environments for learners of all abilities. The main objective being for educators to learn how to toe the line between offering structure and facilitating autonomy and decision-making for neurodivergent learners. This includes but is not limited to individuals with autism spectrum disorder, generalized anxiety, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

This workshop would offer pre-service educators the opportunity to learn how to move away from traditional lessons and classroom organization that excludes neurodivergent learners. By exploring choice-based education workshop attendees would gain knowledge of open-ended and highly modifiable lessons and objectives which work with neurodivergent learners rather than against them. Leaving this workshop educators will have gained new knowledge, resources, and confidence in designing accessible learning environments that may be applied across a diverse range of populations and in a variety of both school and community settings.
