Ned’s research is focused on exploring the complex relationships between the body and society. He has implemented a range of sensory methods, employed theories of the body, and deepened understandings of social phenomena through rich qualitative representations. With an interdisciplinary research trajectory Ned has conducted research across a range of subject areas including: technology, sport, performance art, and education. As part of Ned’s role on the InTouch project his current research is tasked with exploring how emerging robotic technologies influence the social and sensory qualities of touch in the context of work (see https://in-touch-digital.com/case-studies/robotic-touch/).
