Deidre (Dee) Henne is a financial sustainability leader in governance, strategy, risk management, and key metric integration across policies, practice, and reporting. She has led business transformation initiatives and operational turnarounds in both higher education and healthcare sectors. Dee is also an active researcher, serving as a co-principal investigator focused on responsible business & investment practices supported with tri-agency funding. In 2023, Dee received the Canadian Association of University Business Officers highest honour with the Ken Clements Distinguished Administrator Award.  

Dee is currently serving the University of Saskatchewan as Chief Financial Officer. Her previous experience includes serving as Chief Financial Officer, within Ontario Higher Education where she led finance, ancillaries, business development initiatives, including supporting research spin-out companies with initial space, debt, and/or equity solutions. In 2019, Dee launched university sustainability and climate-related financial disclosures and went onto chair the Canadian Climate Charter Technical Committee, a consortium of over 15 universities decarbonizing asset portfolios. Dee’s experience led to her serving on the Implementation Committee for the Canadian Sustainability Standards Board in 2022/23 and in March 2024 she was appointed to CPA Canada’s Reporting and Assurance Standards Oversight Council.
