The University of Saskatchewan
I am passionate about teaching, advocating for students and building inclusive learning environments. My 30 years of professional experience has been in the field of Education, where I have facilitated learning for students in elementary and secondary schools, community colleges, detention centres and most recently, at the University of Saskatchewan. I have been responsible for classroom teaching, designing curriculum and implementing numerous learning support initiatives across all levels of schooling. I have developed varied resources, such as tutor training programs, information manuals and specialised workshops on mindfulness, specific learning disorders, and community support programs and have delivered them to students, parents, teachers, tutors, academic faculty and support staff across a number of communities. Over the years, I have come to understand that I love the engagement that comes with Academic Support and facilitating student success.
