Daniel Cusson

Dr. Cusson is a Principal Research Officer at the National Research Council Canada’s Construction Research Centre based in Ottawa, Ontario. He is also Team Lead for Asset Performance Assessment. Since he joined NRC in 1994, Daniel has devoted his research career to improving the safety and resilience of Canada’s civil infrastructure through the development and validation of innovative solutions such as smart sensing technologies, including satellite-based monitoring of transportation infrastructure and early warning tools for the remote detection of structural integrity issues. With over 220 scientific publications, of which 95 refereed papers have been cited over 3000 times, Dr. Cusson’s R&D work aligns well with NRC’s mission to support the Canadian construction industry’s competitiveness in the global market.
