Dr. Nader Riyahi Alam, received his BSc degree in Nuclear Physics in 1986 from Shiraz

University,  Shiraz-Iran, and his MSc and Ph.D. degrees in Medical Physics with the specialty of

Medical Imaging from Nagoya University of Japan, in 1992 and 1996, respectively. He is currently a Professor at the Department of Medical Physics & Biomedical Engineering, School of Medicine, Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS), Tehran-Iran. He is a member of the “Speciality Board of Medical Physics, Radiobiology and Radiation Protection in the Ministry of Health and Higher Education”. Also, he has been the Research Deputy, International chancellor and Biosafety chancellor of the department and the School of medicine in his career. As an educator, researcher and author of several books, he is performing in the specialized analytical work for research development and acting as a supervisor with the publication of numerous scientific articles in graduating Master and Doctorate courses. His research interests have been in Magnetic Resonance Molecular Imaging (MRMI), leading to development of several Theranostic Biomarkers for the detection of sentinel node breast cancer and also using MTI, DWI, PWI and recently QSWI methods in MMRI of the free metal-based natural metabolic contrast agents for the detection of Glioblastoma Multiform (GBM) brain tumors. Moreover, regarding to Neuroimaging, Dr Riyahi Alam, has been developing Functional & Cognitive Brain mapping algorithms using task dependent, resting-fMRI, fNIRS for differentiating MS and NMO patients and recently, studying rTMS efficacy for low back pain therapy. These researches also led to just recently registered patent of ”Novel fMRI-Compatible Wrist Movement Interface for Brain Activation Assessment during Rehabilitation Treatment”. He has also won several scientific awards and selected as an outstanding researcher in: a) between the all researchers of Tehran University of Medical Sciences and Tehran university common research symposium, b) in education symposium for MSc and Ph.D. Medical Physics educational plan renovation in Scientific Expertise Board of Medical Physics, c) for Innovations, Inventions, Scientific Speculation Award for Designing a Computer-Aided Diagnostic System(CAD) for Assessment of Digital Mammograms in Iran,  Razi Research Festival on Medical Sciences, Ministry of Health & Higher Medical Educations and d) recently his research nominated as Innovation of the year 2019(IOY2019), in World Molecular Imaging Congress(WMIC2019) in Convention Center, Montreal, Quebec, 2019. From October 2019, Dr. Riyahi Aalm is a Visiting  Scholar at PERFORM Center of Concordia University, Montreal, Quebec.
