
Josée Provençal
Josée Provençal obtained her PhD in Political Science from the University of Ottawa. She is a postdoctoral researcher within the Labo Climat Montréal at the Institut de recherche scientifique (INRS), centre urbanisation, culture et société. She holds a bachelor's degree in history (Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières) and a master's degree in political science, international relations (Université du Québec à Montréal). Between her master's and doctorate, she worked in the energy sector where she implemented a knowledge management platform. In 2011, she set up AETOS energy, environment, a service company in strategic research for the energy and environment sector. She has also set up a research and transfer committee to facilitate joint research projects between the cultural and academic communities (Synapse C). She is interested in the global governance of energy, sustainable development, energy transition, energy sufficiency, degrowth and the social relations that structure our energy consumption.
