Sébastien Poncet

Sébastien Poncet received his bachelor's and master's degrees in marine engineering from Seatech (Toulon, France) in 2002 and the Ph.D. degree in complex systems from Aix-Marseille University (Marseille, France) in 2005, with a thesis on turbulent rotor-stato printer disk flows (two national awards). He was then assistant lecturer for one year before getting a position of assistant professor at Aix-Marseille University in 2006, making research at the M2P2 laboratory on both the fluid flow and heat transfer in rotating types of machinery and the transport of bronchial mucus by air pressure drops. He joined the University of Sherbrooke as an Associate Professor in 2014, where he currently is the chairholder of the NSERC/Hydro-Québec/Natural Resources Canada/EmersonIndustrial Research Chair on Industrial Energy Efficiency. He is now a full professor in the mechanical engineering department and the director of the LMFTEUS lab (https://lmfteus.wordpress.com). His research interests include, but are not limited to, the thermophysical properties of complex heat transfer fluids, the advanced numerical modelings of thermal systems, the waste water treatment for mining applications, the air/oil flow in deaerators of aero engines, and the impact of waves and sediment transport on coastal structures. He is the co-author of about 250 research papers whose more than100 in international journals. He is a member of the editorial board o fHelyion, Mathematical Problems in Engineering, Applied Sciences, and Progress in Computational Fluid Dynamics among other journals.
