Dr Nicole Sanderson

My research focuses on the effects of disturbance (permafrost thaw, fire, land use change) on carbon sequestration and environmental changes in peatlands, wetlands and forests. To do so, I use geochemical and palaeoecological techniques (I love dating peat!) to look at past environmental and climate changes. I am interested in applied research, used to inform policy, monitoring, conservation/restoration, archaeological projects.
