She/Her
Harkirat Kaur is an Inclusive Designer currently based in Toronto who is passionate about accessibility for all. With over five years of experience developing identities for fashion designers and writing for news organizations in India, her work has always emphasized the importance of cultural and environmental conservation. Recently, she has been focusing on working with neurodivergent children, leveraging her deep understanding of materials like LEGO (and textiles) and their sensory qualities to create engaging learning experiences.
Harkirat strongly believes that joy is a powerful motivator for any activity and is committed to leveraging this belief to create personalized learning experiences for children with unique abilities. Through the integration of conventional, tactile, and technological resources, she collaborates with diverse stakeholders to devise innovative solutions aimed at fostering optimal learning and holistic development among children. Outside of her design endeavours, she dedicates her time to making life decisions that stir up necessary tension and provoke meaningful conversations within her social circle, serving as a form of advocacy for the rights of women, particularly those of South Asian origin.
